Mentor Arabia and Oum el Nour held, under the patronage of the ministries of education and social affairs, a seminar entitled “The Role of Schools in Promoting Drug Prevention” on 10-11 April 2008 at Holiday Inn-Dunes, Verdun, Beirut.
The Seminar drew a large crowd of educators, national and foreign specialists and representatives of governmental and non-governmental bodies focused on drug prevention, including General Michel Chakkour from the Internal Security Forces, and Colonel Adel Machmouchi, head of the Drug Enforcement Central Bureau. |

The seminar was aimed at raising the awareness of school principals and policy makers in educational institutions of the importance of drug prevention and encouraging them to include drug-prevention programs in their curriculum and activities.
It was organized in collaboration with Caritas Lebanon, Caritas Luxembourg and “Fonds de Lutte contre le Trafic des Stupéfiants”, and with the participation of Mentor International.
